Joan Flasch Artists’ Postage Stamp Collection
In the Spring of 2012, I completed a brief internship at the Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection in Chicago, IL. Working with a small collection of mail art and artistamps, I created original metadata, assigned accession numbers, and also wrote a brief description of the items, which covered the history, and scope of the collection. This project was practice developing a system to organize and retrieve data with the end-user in mind. I also developed project management skills and an understanding of best practices and principles for metadata creation for online digital projects.
